About The Position

San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance is an international, nonprofit conservation organization with two front doors: the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. We integrate wildlife health and care, science, and education to develop sustainable conservation solutions. HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION The Senior Individual and Planned Giving Officer is responsible for managing a portfolio of prospects to secure financial resources to meet SDZWA's immediate and long-term priorities; this position will work closely with the philanthropy team, volunteers, and committee members, as well as donors and prospects. This position reports to the Director of Philanthropy.

Requirements

Experience in fundraising
Experience in the development field
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field or equivalent specialized training
Current valid California Driver’s license in good standing
Solicitation strategies
Fundraising
Moves Management
Estate planning methods and specific planned giving techniques.
Tax aspects of gift plans.
Communicate effectively (verbal and written)
Develop cultivation strategies
Write and track proposals
Meet short and long-range goals
Work with teams and effectively with others
Analyze and utilize database information

Responsibilities

Manages dedicated portfolio of 125 donors and prospects
Identifies, qualifies, cultivates and solicits donors for gifts of $100,000 and up
Maintains continuous relationships with prospects/donors
Provides complex interpretation regarding fund raising and planned gift vehicles
Collaborates and liaises with volunteers such as committee members
Recommends specific designation and level of gift for solicitations
Meets financial goals of campaign with respect to individual and planned gifts
