The Senior Individual and Planned Giving Officer is responsible for managing a portfolio of prospects to secure financial resources to meet SDZWA's immediate and long-term priorities; this position will work closely with the philanthropy team, volunteers, and committee members, as well as donors and prospects. This position reports to the Director of Philanthropy. The position will have an emphasis on government grants and corporate and foundation fund raising. A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in government grant and corporate and foundation fund raising, including prospecting for opportunities, effectively discerning "matches" between the funder's guidelines and potential donors, possessing strong skills in cultivating donors, grant writing to the funder's specifications, and following through with post-grant reports and stewardship strategies. A finalist would be equally comfortable making a face-to-face request for funds as well as crafting a persuasive written grant application. A successful candidate would be an approachable team player for the Corporate, Foundation, and Government Grants team and the Philanthropy team and have the ability to meet ambitious financial goals.
