As a Senior Income Tax Accountant for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, you will work directly with expatriate employees and other Church employees to help them remain compliant with current tax laws and required tax reporting, which helps safeguard sacred funds for the Church's religious mission that is under the direction of senior ecclesiastical leaders. This senior/lead level individual contributor position performs accounting tasks associated with the maintenance and preparation of tax records and tax returns. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business management, or related field. 6 years of applicable work experience. Possesses expert working knowledge of income tax issues. Has a current CPA or EA (Enrolled Agent certification). Possesses ability to work as part of a team. Demonstrates problem-solving skills, analytical thinking skills, and ability to meet deadlines. Is detail oriented. Has solid computer, word processing, and database management skills. To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment. Preferred: Ability to lead the work of others. This role will combine an understanding of Church organization, culture, and interests with expert industry-level technical expertise. This role assists in preparing and reviewing federal, state, and local individual tax returns and related reconciliations, statements, or records.
