Group/Division The Legal Compliance Organization (LCO) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA and second headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI provides legal guidance to further KLA’s strategic objectives and protect and preserve the legal, ethical and financial integrity and reputation of the Company. With specific expertise in the areas of corporate law, commercial law, employment law, and intellectual property; the LCO offers strategic legal counsel that is informed by a clear understanding of the company’s business objectives and expertise in the laws and regulations relevant to the business worldwide. Job Description/Preferred Qualifications KLA’s Senior Manager, Import Compliance is responsible for overseeing and executing the organization’s global import compliance program to ensure full adherence with all U.S. and international customs regulations. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Trade Compliance, this role provides strategic leadership, develops policies and procedures and partners closely with internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a subject‑matter expert in customs regulations who can balance operational execution with long-term program governance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Law, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in import compliance, customs operations, or trade compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. import regulations including HTSUS, CBP regulations, and valuation rules.
  • Prior experience managing people and working with customs brokers.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) certification.
  • Experience with global trade management (GTM) SAP GTS
  • Experience in semiconductors industry or manufacturing
  • Experience with CTPAT or other trusted trader programs.
  • Experience with Duty Drawback and FTZ programs

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive import compliance program aligned with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), applicable Free Trade Agreements (FTA), Customs Trade Partnership against Terrorism (CTPAT) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and enforce import compliance policies, procedures, work instructions, and internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable import regulations, including tariff classification, customs valuation, country-of-origin determination, duty minimization strategies, and admissibility requirements.
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes, advising leadership on potential business impacts.
  • Oversee and support the preparation of product classification (HTSUS), binding rulings, and internal classification governance.
  • Manage import entries, customs holds, post‑entry corrections, and reconciliations.
  • Lead internal audits and assessments to ensure data accuracy and compliance with import regulations.
  • Partner with logistics, procurement, finance, product management, legal, and operations to embed compliant processes throughout the import lifecycle.
  • Provide trade compliance guidance for supply chain initiatives, digitization projects, and business expansions.
  • Train internal teams and educate stakeholders on import compliance requirements.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of import compliance professionals.
  • Foster a culture of compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
