About The Position

Windsor is seeking a senior HVAC mechanical engineer who will serve as a technical leader and trusted client-facing partner for our MEP practice in the Pacific Northwest This is not just a project-management seat. This role is designed for someone who combines deep HVAC expertise with strong judgment, collaborative business development, and a mentorship mindset. You will partner with Windsor practice leads on pursuits, client conversations, and project delivery where HVAC credibility matters. Your success will come from helping Windsor win better opportunities, guiding sound technical decisions, and strengthening our long-term mechanical bench.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a similar degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • 10+ years of experience in MEP design with a strong focus on HVAC systems for buildings.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead mechanical design and make sound technical decisions in multidisciplinary project environments.
  • Experience serving in a client-facing role, including participation in meetings, interviews, proposals, or business development support.
  • Strong working knowledge of business codes, industry standards, and construction-phase coordination.
  • Ability to mentor engineers, communication clearly, and operate effectively across disciplines.
  • Knowledge of basic MS Office skills including Word and Excel
  • A valid driver’s license and your own transportation

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Windsor’s senior HVAC subject matter expert on priority pursuits and projects across the MEP practice.
  • Lead HVAC system planning, design direction, and technical decision-making for building projects.
  • Join practice leads in client meetings, interviews, and proposal efforts where mechanical expertise is critical.
  • Help shape scope, system concepts, and technical positioning early in the sales cycle.
  • Lead or support delivery of mechanical scope, schedule, and budget as Lead Engineer, Project Manager, and/or Engineer of Record.
  • Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that are practical, buildable, and aligned with client goals.
  • Provide design QA/QC, code interpretation, and sound engineering judgment throughout project execution.
  • Conduct site visits to verify conditions, evaluate system performance, and support construction administration.
  • Develop trusted relationships with clients, architects, owners, and contractor partners through responsiveness and technical credibility.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing, standards, and continuous improvement across the team.
