Austin Bridge & Road has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Human Resources Generalist at our Corporate Office in Coppell, Texas . They will provide a wide range of human resources support to the department and company. This position will be responsible for maintaining and building knowledge and skills in all HR disciplines from employee orientation and recruitment, compensation and benefits, EEO, legal requirements for employers, and training and development.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of HR experience, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of HR disciplines including employee relations, compensation, employment law, and organizational development.
  • Capable of maintaining confidential information, due to the nature of HR.
  • Able to build rapport with all types of people; can clearly put into words people’s strengths and limitations and accurately project what people are likely to do in various situations.
  • Able and willing to face challenges with energy and composure while producing results and effectively managing conflict.
  • Excellent communication, organization, presentation, facilitation and conflict resolution skills are essential.
  • Able to organize people, tools, equipment, and other resources and orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish desired results.
  • Able to make decisions under tight deadlines, occasionally in the face of incomplete information.
  • Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field and 5+ years’ experience in Human Resources or related field is preferred or 6 - 8 years of progressive, relevant Human Resources experience
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel when needed
  • Working knowledge of UKG or similar HRIS
  • Must be able to work independently with a high degree of customer service

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary HR contact for field and office personnel, supporting employee relations and HR compliance.
  • Lead onboarding and orientation processes for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
  • Support employee relations and day-to-day HR life cycle matters.
  • Support recruiting efforts, including job postings, candidate screening, and coordination with hiring managers.
  • Assist with assigned areas of organization development and performance management including coaching employees and managers to increase effectiveness/results of the performance assessment process.
  • Support management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions.
  • Interpret HR policies and employment law for employees and managers, and coach them to ensure consistency, effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate personnel records and HRIS data; generate reports as needed.
  • Engage and contribute to various HR project initiatives focused on driving improvements, automation and progressive HR practice.
  • Ensure proper administration of all HR-related policies, procedures, systems, and processes.
  • Audit various documents and processes.
  • All other duties as assigned.
