About The Position

This is an excellent opportunity to join and grow EnSafe, getting involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients across the globe. The location for this role can be flexible to the following EnSafe office locations: Memphis, TN; Nashville, TN; Knoxville, TN; Charleston, SC; Bowling Green, KY; Cincinnati, OH; Atlanta, GA; Jacksonville, FL; Tampa, FL; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; San Diego, CA; Long Beach, CA or Concord, CA. Hybrid or remote work will be considered based on experience. As a Human Health Risk Assessor, you will play a key role in supporting risk assessments for government clients under the Navy CLEAN contract and multiple industrial clients in a collaborative and supportive environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in toxicology, public health, biology, or related scientific field.
  • 12+ years of experience in an environmental consulting or government regulatory environment.
  • Thorough understanding of USEPA Risk Assessment Guidance for Superfund (RAGS) and supporting guidance.
  • Understanding of CERCLA, RCRA, and state regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated quantitative experience calculating human health risk and hazard in accordance with (RAGS)
  • Understanding of the basis for selection of exposure assumptions.
  • Ability to clearly interpret and explain risk assessment tables in a technical report.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high levels of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse personalities, demonstrating professionalism and resourcefulness.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree in toxicology, public health, biology, or related scientific field.
  • Knowledge of emerging contaminants including PFAS toxicity and assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Work in multidisciplinary teams to formulate conceptual site models and identify appropriate receptors for evaluation to site-specific human health risk assessments.
  • Lead the selection of appropriate site-specific exposure parameters.
  • Calculate carcinogenic risk and non-carcinogenic hazard in accordance with USEPA or state-specific protocols. Familiarity with USEPA lead models and vapor intrusion evaluations.
  • Calculate population statistics of interest using Pro UCL software.
  • Lead report preparation of addressing risk assessment approach, findings, uncertainties, and recommendations.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior staff.
  • Support internal clients such as project managers and team members.
