About The Position

The Senior HR Generalist is a key leadership partner who supports and guides leaders across Training, Veterinary Medicine, Operations, and Veterans Services. Reporting to the Sr. Director of HR, this role combines strong HR and compliance expertise with a genuine passion for mentoring, developing, and supporting a diverse workforce in a 24/7 environment.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience in complex, high-accountability environments.
  • Exceptional EQ; able to offer "tough-love" mentorship to leaders.
  • Must be comfortable working onsite daily in a facility with service dogs.
  • Able to operate standard office equipment.
  • This is a full-time, onsite, position that requires flexibility.
  • A typical work week will be 40 hours and may include weekends and evenings.
  • Required attendance at events and/or emergencies may require longer hours or evening work.

  • SHRM-CP or PHR is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manager Development & Coaching: Support supervisors through targeted coaching that builds capability in people management, accountability, and team dynamics.
  • Culture Advocacy: Serve as the primary architect of onsite culture, ensuring Liberty Dogs values are felt by every employee across all shifts.
  • Professional Development: Identify growth opportunities for staff and assist the Sr. Director in succession planning.
  • Personnel Integrity: Maintain 100% accurate, audit-ready digital personnel files.
  • LOA & Worker’s Comp: Manage the lifecycle of employee leaves and Worker’s Compensation claims, including return-to-work coordination.
  • Safety Liaison: Partner with Facility Operations to ensure all staff are trained in safety protocols and OSHA compliance.
  • HRIS Mastery: Generate weekly reports on turnover, headcount, and attendance to drive data-driven decisions.
  • Regulatory Oversight: Own the integrity of ACA compliance, EEO reporting, and Nevada labor law adherence.
  • Payroll/Benefits Partnership: Work in lockstep with the Payroll/Benefits Specialist to audit data and oversee open enrollment.
  • Employee Relations: Support internal investigations and disciplinary documentation to mitigate risk.
  • Full-Cycle Recruitment: Lead hiring and onboarding to ensure mission alignment and hiring targets are met.
  • Onboarding: Partner with supervisors to provide high-quality new-hire experience.
  • Offboarding: Manage compliant, compassionate offboarding including exit interviews and documentation.
  • Schedule Flexibility: While primarily working standard business hours, you will provide strategic availability for 2nd and 3rd-shift employees to ensure 24/7 support.
