About The Position

We are a growing government services contracting firm headquartered in Edgewood, MD, with employees across multiple states and worldwide. The Senior HR Generalist will serve as the on-site HR presence at our Edgewood headquarters, providing day-to-day HR operational excellence across recruiting, HRIS administration, compliance, benefits, and employee relations. This role partners closely with an HR Director who provides strategic oversight, policy guidance, and direction on complex multi-state compliance matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 5–8 years of progressive HR generalist experience, with at least 3–5 years of hands-on UKG (formerly Kronos/Ultimate) HRIS administration experience required.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on Deltek Costpoint experience required, including employee, benefits, and withholdings setup.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting a multi-state workforce with working knowledge of multi-state employment law and compliance requirements.
  • Full-cycle recruiting experience required.
  • Experience in a government contracting environment strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Experience with federal contracting labor standards.
  • Familiarity with DCAA-compliant timekeeping practices.
  • Experience supporting a workforce of 75–150 employees in a contractor or professional services environment.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain the UKG HRIS platform, including employee data management, talent acquisition workflows, onboarding configuration, and system reporting. Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day UKG issues and enhancements.
  • Manage employee records and data integrity within Deltek Costpoint, including employee setup, benefits elections, withholdings, and status changes. Coordinate with Finance & Accounting to ensure data accuracy across systems.
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts: job postings, applicant tracking, interview coordination, offer letters, and pre-employment processing. Partner with hiring managers to fill positions efficiently.
  • Manage new employee onboarding and orientation, ensuring a consistent and welcoming experience for all new hires across locations.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across a multi-state workforce. Flag emerging compliance concerns to the HR Director for strategic guidance.
  • Administer benefits, programs, including health and welfare plans, open enrollment, and employee inquiries. Coordinate with brokers and carriers on day-to-day plan administration.
  • Maintain and update HR policies and the employee handbook in coordination with the HR Director and legal counsel as appropriate.
  • Support the compensation program by maintaining job descriptions, salary data, and assisting managers with pay-related guidance within established guidelines.
  • Serve as the primary employee relations contact for routine inquiries, leave management (FMLA, state leave laws), and employee concerns. Escalate complex matters appropriately.
  • Maintain HR recordkeeping and reporting requirements, including I-9 compliance, EEO tracking, and audit-readiness of personnel files.
  • Coordinate employee engagement activities and company events as directed.
  • Support government contract compliance requirements as they relate to the HR function, including SCA and applicable labor standards awareness.
  • Assist with special projects, proposals, and committees assigned by leadership.
