About The Position

Human Resources at the University of Nevada, Reno, seeks strategic, dynamic, and results-driven candidates to champion Human Resources functions as a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP). This posting is for a current opening in Advancement and for future openings in other Colleges and Divisions on campus. This posting is for either level of HRBP and will be determined based on organizational need and experience of the successful candidate. Positions report to Human Resources with a dotted-line relationship to the supported business unit. The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) provides strategic leadership and oversight of HR initiatives for an assigned school, college, or business unit. Serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, this position aligns people strategies with institutional and unit goals across workforce planning, organizational development, recruitment, classification and compensation, employee relations, and learning and development. The Senior HRBP exercises a high degree of independence and judgment to influence decisions, design effective structures, and foster inclusive, high-performing cultures. The role partners with central HR teams to ensure consistency in policy application while tailoring solutions to meet unit needs. The position may lead or mentor HR or administrative staff and oversee HR operations, data reporting, and compliance efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or a related field and five (5) years of related work experience; OR Master’s Degree in human resources or a related field and three (3) years of related work experience.
  • Human Resources experience as a HR business partner or senior-level generalist with experience in multiple functional areas (such as employee relations, classification and compensation, organizational development, recruiting, etc.) and experience leading HR initiatives or projects or related.
