JP Logistics & Consulting LLC (JPLC) is looking for a talented Senior Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic to work in a unique and dynamic environment. Location: Naval Submarine Base – Kings Bay, GA Job Open Date: January 19, 2026 Salary: $ TBD Scope: The Senior MAINTENANCE MECHANICS will be certified or have equal experience to perform maintenance, i.e., towing and repair on the AFVs used at SUBASE Kings Bay. Perform all preventative automotive maintenance and repairs and shall have experience in wiring, electronics, automotive mechanical repairs, welding, and machine shop fundamentals. Maintenance Mechanics must hold a current certification or documentation of equivalent industry experience to perform maintenance on installed engines within each vehicle. Diesel experience is a plus. Responsible for documentation of maintenance mechanic certification activities at all time of the contract. Possess current state issued driver’s license. License is required for operation of the AFVs on base by the Contractor. Adhere to specific precautions for operation of military HUMVEE wheel vehicles. Must have sufficient experience to operate the AFVs. Perform additional duties of assisting with Supply/Logistics or ordering and receiving of parts. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Provide service and repair of Armored Fighting Vehicles for the Marines at NSB Kings Bay. Operations are on site at Kings Bay Subbase. Vehicles supported will be: - Bear Cat: F-550 Super Duty Chassis with Triton V-10 Gas Engine, 4WD, armored body construction, and emergency strobe lighting - BEAR: Freightliner FL70 & M2 Commercial Truck Chassis with Caterpillar Diesel Engine, 4WD, armored body construction and emergency strobe lighting - HMMWV: M1116, M1141 and M1151 variants with V-8 turbo-charged, water-cooled diesel engines, 2WD and 4WD - Coach, teach and mentor a team of mechanics Qualifications: QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS TO REPAIR AFV DIESEL ENGINES. At a minimum certified mechanics qualified to perform maintenance on Ford 6.0L, 6.4L, and 6.7L diesel engines; M1151, M1141 and M1116 HMMWV V-8 turbo charged liquid cooled diesel engines; and large truck class Caterpillar diesel engines. Each mechanic does not require certified qualifications in each area, but combined certified qualifications on each engine contained within the AFV mix is required. Mechanics shall hold a current certification or documentation of equivalent industry experience to perform maintenance on installed engines within each vehicle. Perform maintenance and repair for all the AFV per the respective manufacturer’s technical specifications with ASE Master Technicians or equivalent. Perform Structural welding and cutting on ferrous and nonferrous materials Repair and Diagnostics of Diesel Engines and Electronic equipment within each vehicle and any new vehicle that the Government may procure shall be required.
