About The Position

Surescripts serves the nation through simpler, trusted health intelligence sharing, in order to increase patient safety, lower costs and ensure quality care. We deliver insights at critical points of care for better decisions — from streamlining prior authorizations to delivering comprehensive medication histories to facilitating messages between providers. The role requires deep healthcare data experience, strong technical problem-solving skills, and the ability to translate complex data issues into clear guidance for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working with healthcare data, including healthcare data integrations, analytics support, or data operations.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting healthcare data feeds, APIs, or analytics platforms in a production environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve complex, multi-system data issues.

  • Ability to read, write, and troubleshoot SQL queries.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Visio, Word, Outlook, and Access.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with life sciences organizations (e.g., pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or real-world evidence data).
  • Experience with standardized healthcare data formats such as HL7, EDI, or EDIFACT.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data workflows, clinical data, payer/provider data exchanges, or life sciences analytics use cases.
  • Experience supporting analytics dashboards or data visualization platforms.
  • Understanding of real-time and batch healthcare data processing models.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, web-based APIs, and asynchronous data access technologies.
  • Experience troubleshooting browser-based, authentication, or connectivity issues related to healthcare data APIs and dashboards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical onboarding and implementation of healthcare data integrations, ensuring seamless connectivity between Surescripts data solutions and external partner systems.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned healthcare data products, APIs, and analytics solutions, guiding partners through integration, testing, and go-live.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for external healthcare and life sciences partners, collaborating closely with internal Engineering, Product, Data Core, DevOps, and Analytics teams.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to healthcare data feeds, APIs, schemas, file-based integrations, and analytics dashboards.
  • Support and deploy tools that enable partners and internal users to independently monitor, validate, and manage healthcare data integrations (e.g., admin tools, data validation interfaces, access management tools).
  • Monitor fixes and enhancements to ensure data delivery, processing, and analytics issues are fully resolved and verified.
  • Maintain deep working knowledge of Surescripts’ healthcare data infrastructure, including ingestion pipelines, schemas, APIs, file loading solutions, and analytics/reporting frameworks.
  • Proactively analyze incident trends, data quality metrics, and daily reports to identify recurring issues and recommend system, configuration, or process improvements.
  • Manage incoming partner cases via Salesforce CRM and email, ensuring timely, professional, and effective resolution of data delivery failures, data discrepancies, and analytics issues.
  • Document integration workflows, operational processes, and recurring solutions to support knowledge sharing and partner self-service.
