The Senior Hardware Engineer will collaborate with other engineers, technicians, and computer programmers to solve emerging issues to improve product quality and process efficiency.

Requirements

  • Must possess a Master's degree in Mechatronics, Robotics or or related field (foreign equivalent acceptable) and 3 years of experience in automotive environment
  • Ability to use equipment in lab testing such as power supplies, scopes network traffic generators (e.g. CANOE, Spirent), JTAG debugger, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with the CAN protocol, including network analysis, debugging, and validation in automotive systems.
  • Experience in using automotive T1 Ethernet, high-speed digital design, and signal integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Bring up, test, and debug automotive electronic systems, validating complex compute and network components; drive issues to closure in a Linux environment.
  • Evaluate specifications, establish optimum test methods, and identify the equipment required to complete system function verification and performance characterization.
  • Perform calculations to ensure systems meet global safety standards.
  • Build HIL hardware setups and assist in end-to-end software testing using Python; document and communicate setup procedures, debugging processes, and test results with team members.
  • Design hardware schematics and simple breakout boards using OrCAD or similar tools.
  • Set up and maintain lab space, tools, and materials for the hardware R&D lab.
  • Manage inventory of prototype devices.
