About The Position

We are a team of passionate experts in autonomy, robotics, AI, machine learning, large scale compute, electronics design, systems design, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering who have a deep desire to see self-driving products make the way we move safer, faster, and more efficient. The Hardware Engineering team is responsible for the engineering, manufacturing and testing of the entire autonomous vehicle from components to vehicles. This includes the base vehicle platform as well as the individual modules comprising Stack’s Automated Driving System. As a drive-by-wire hardware engineer, you will interact with members of the hardware, systems, firmware, motion control, and other teams to collaboratively build up Stack’s drive-by-wire integration on new vehicle platforms and new systems. This includes ownership of the steering, braking and engine controls in autonomous vehicles. You will also be responsible for supporting existing platforms and systems, and working with external suppliers as needed. This position is located in Pittsburgh, PA with the expectations around the role requiring regular onsite presence at our New Stanton, PA site. This position will also require some infrequent travel to partner sites.
