Job Description Position Overview: The Motion Business Unit, Performance Engineering team is looking for an experienced Senior Hardware Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. You will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of electrical systems and components with a focus on sustaining and improving the products throughout their lifecycle. You will report to the Performance Engineering Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • Travel, including internationally, up to 10% of time.
  • Typically requires 5+ years of experience in hardware electrical engineering.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout software.
  • Knowledge of Power Electronics or control hardware development.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Automation application including servo drives and motors.
  • Experience with product life cycle management tools (ex. SAP, Windchill).
  • Experience with design for manufacturing.
  • Experience with product testing (ex. EMC) and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of functional safety.
  • Experience with continuous improvement tools.
  • Knowledge with product certification (ex. UL).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and test electrical systems and components.
  • Design and maintain electrical schematics, BOMs, and other documentation.
  • Discover alternate electronic components to achieve cost reduction or address component obsolescence, ensuring uninterrupted production and product performance.
  • Support supplier evaluation and respond to technical queries, working with procurement and quality teams to resolve component or process issues.
  • Develop hardware test plan per product requirements.
  • Lead hardware testing and validation following established test plans, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet quality and performance standards.
  • Lead failure analysis, root cause investigations and corrective action processes.
