About The Position

Kforce's client, a growing and established Engineering Technology company, is seeking a Senior Hardware Design Engineer in Wheat Ridge, CO. This company offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, annual bonus/profit sharing, Annual Equity Bonus, 401K matching, etc. Responsibilities: Comprehensive design and development of analog and digital circuits, power systems, and signal processing subsystems for intricate products Define system-level architecture and select components for electronic systems Take circuit designs from initial concept through simulation, prototyping, testing, and integration Design and implement sophisticated control systems using microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGAs Lead and mentor the PCB design process, ensuring layouts are optimized for signal integrity, manufacturability, and thermal management PCB development from schematic capture and layout to review and prototyping-and perform simulations to validate PCB designs prior to mass production Develop test plans, protocols, and procedures for hardware validation, performance testing, and debugging of prototypes Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and firmware teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware with other system components Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers, fostering their growth and enhancing their design capabilities Lead design reviews and technical discussions to ensure all engineering solutions meet design objectives and uphold the highest quality standards Manage major design projects from initial planning and concept through to final implementation and production Troubleshoot complex electrical issues during design, testing, and production, applying root cause analysis to resolve design defects or failures Drive continuous improvements in design processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and accelerate time-to-market Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field 4-6+ years of experience in electronic circuit design, PCB layout, and system-level integration Experience with PCB design and layout software such as any of the following Altium, Eagle, KiCad, and Mentor Graphics Hands-on experience with circuit-level troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and other bench tools Experience with IDEs such as STM32CubeIDE, MPLAB X, or Atmel Studio, and toolchains like GCC and IAR or similar Expertise in analog and design, microcontroller, and embedded system design would be ideal Experience of highly regulated industries such as Aerospace, Defense, Pharma or Medical Device would be ideal Understanding of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), signal integrity, power distribution, and thermal design considerations Proficiency in electronic design and simulation tools such as any of the following: Altium Designer, OrCAD, LTSpice, MATLAB, and PSpice Strong leadership and mentoring skills to guide junior engineers and encourage a collaborative team environment Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment Experience with high-speed, high-voltage, and mixed-signal circuit design is advantageous but not required Experience with FPGA programming is also a plus but not required Experience with programming for hardware bring-up, peripheral configuration, and debugging via JTAG/SWD tools is a plus Knowledge of wireless communication technologies (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee) and IoT systems is a plus but not required Proficiency in reading and writing basic firmware for microcontrollers/microprocessors (e.g., ARM Cortex, PIC, AVR) is a plus

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field
  • 4-6+ years of experience in electronic circuit design, PCB layout, and system-level integration
  • Experience with PCB design and layout software such as any of the following Altium, Eagle, KiCad, and Mentor Graphics
  • Hands-on experience with circuit-level troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and other bench tools
