About The Position

Superior Skilled Trades is partnered with a company seeking a highly skilled Senior HAAS CNC Machinist for a direct-hire opportunity in Trainer, PA. In this critical role, you will apply your extensive machining and hands-on CNC programming expertise to set up, program, operate, and ensure the quality of precision components produced on CNC equipment. This position requires mandatory CNC programming experience , preferably on HAAS mills , with additional preference for CNC lathe programming experience . You will play a key role in delivering high-precision parts that meet strict quality standards while actively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of CNC machining experience with mandatory CNC programming responsibility.
  • Strong CNC programming experience on HAAS machines is required, with a minimum focus on CNC mills.
  • Solid understanding of CNC machining principles, G-code, and machine setup.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • In-depth knowledge of machining processes, materials, tooling, and quality control standards.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • CNC lathe programming experience in addition to mill programming.
  • Experience using Mastercam for CNC program development and optimization.
  • Advanced familiarity with multi-axis machining or complex part geometries.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, program , and operate HAAS CNC machines, with a strong emphasis on CNC mills , and additional work on CNC lathes as needed.
  • Write, edit, optimize, and troubleshoot CNC programs (G-code) directly at the machine and/or via CAM software.
  • Independently develop machining strategies, including tooling selection, feeds and speeds, and fixture concepts.
  • Use advanced precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) to verify dimensions and tolerances of finished parts.
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues to minimize downtime and scrap.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed production documentation, including work orders, setup sheets, and quality control records.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, productivity, efficiency, and safety.
  • Mentor or support junior machinists as needed by sharing best practices and technical knowledge.
