About The Position

The Senior Group Sales Manager is responsible for driving group, corporate, and leisure business for the hotel by developing strategic sales initiatives, cultivating strong client relationships, and maximizing revenue opportunities. This position is classified as an hourly, non-exempt role and is eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local labor laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of hotel sales experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of the Scottsdale/Phoenix hospitality and group sales market
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and revenue targets
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and hotel sales platforms strongly preferred (e.g., CI/TY, Salesforce, LightSpeed)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve and exceed hotel revenue goals
  • Generate new group, corporate, and social business through proactive sales efforts, networking, and market outreach
  • Manage and grow existing accounts while identifying opportunities for upselling and repeat business
  • Negotiate contracts, rates, and terms to maximize profitability while maintaining guest satisfaction
  • Collaborate closely with Revenue Management, Marketing, Catering, and Operations teams to ensure seamless event execution
  • Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and local networking functions in the Scottsdale and greater Phoenix market
  • Conduct site inspections and client presentations showcasing hotel accommodations, meeting spaces, and amenities
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and demand patterns to adjust sales strategies accordingly
  • Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and activity updates for senior leadership
  • Mentor and support junior sales team members as needed
