About The Position

Hyundai Motor America is seeking a highly analytical and strategic leader to lead the development and oversight of Hyundai and Genesis’ long‑range sales plans. This role is critical in shaping mid‑ to long‑term business direction by integrating market research, product planning insights, competitive intelligence, and forecasting analytics. Reporting to the Director, Sales Planning, Analysis & Forecasting, this position serves as a subject‑matter expert responsible for translating complex data into actionable strategies—ensuring sales performance aligns with long‑range objectives while identifying risks and growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in sales planning, market research, product planning, forecasting, or analytics.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Strong background in market analysis, forecasting methodologies, and long-range planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate performance, strategic plans, and make recommendations under uncertainty.
  • Experience leveraging data from multiple systems using Tableau, Alteryx, or similar analytics tools.
  • Strong analytical rigor with familiarity in statistical concepts, modeling, and forecasting techniques.
  • Ability to synthesize large data sets into clear, business-focused insights.

  • Proficiency with SAP, CAARS, and PIN Explorer is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, review, and execution of Hyundai and Genesis long‑range sales plans by model.
  • Own mid‑term planning, continuously assessing actual sales performance against long‑range plans and identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities.
  • Produce accurate, data‑driven forecasts that support corporate strategy and maximize long‑term outcomes.
  • Forecast long‑term market share performance using industry forecasting partners, competitive intelligence, and future product plans.
  • Analyze economic trends, industry outlooks, and competitive dynamics to inform sales and product strategies.
  • Lead Hyundai’s annual industry segmentation process, from methodology to executive alignment.
  • Interpret and synthesize third‑party market research, industry data, and buyer insights into clear strategic recommendations.
  • Manage buyer loyalty and conquest analytics, including oversight of vendor relationships.
  • Monitor performance versus long‑range plans; proactively identify risk areas and opportunity gaps.
  • Translate loyalty and conquest insights into cross‑functional recommendations that improve retention, conquest, and portfolio performance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in loyalty, conquest, and segmentation measurement methodologies.
  • Partner with Finance to assess profitability impacts of planning changes.
  • Collaborate with Compliance to ensure plans align with fuel economy and emissions regulations.
  • Interface cross‑functionally with Product Planning, Sales, Finance, Compliance, and Leadership to align objectives and inputs.
  • Prepare and deliver executive‑level presentations that communicate analytical findings and strategic implications.
  • Manage a department or one or more functional areas, making decisions aligned to long‑term divisional goals.
  • Champion process improvements, elevate analytical standards, and support ad‑hoc strategic initiatives as needed.
