About The Position

The Holland Group is a fast‑growing leader in high‑purity process equipment, sanitary systems, and engineered solutions serving the pharmaceutical, food, beverage, and industrial markets. As the company expands its capabilities, footprint, and workforce across multiple locations, Holland is seeking a Senior Group Director of Human Resources to lead the HR function and serve as a strategic partner to the executive team. This role is ideal for a broad HR generalist who can balance hands‑on leadership with forward‑looking strategies. The Senior Group Director will oversee all core HR disciplines—including talent acquisition, employee relations, organizational development, performance management, compensation, compliance, and culture—while building scalable people systems that support Holland’s growth and operational improvements. This leader will guide and develop the HR team, strengthen leadership capability across the organization, and ensure that Holland’s people strategy aligns with its business strategy and long‑term expansion goals. This is a full onsite position at one of our two company locations: Holland Applied Technologies (Burr Ridge, IL) or Bio Fab Technologies (Pleasant Prairie, WI).

Requirements

  • 10-15+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership of an HR team.
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions, including HR due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
  • Demonstrated success building scalable HR processes and developing high‑performing teams.
  • Broad HR generalist background with depth in talent acquisition, employee relations, talent management, and organizational development.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to partner effectively with senior leadership.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.

  • Experience supporting growth‑oriented, multi-site, or manufacturing/engineering environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR advisor to the CEO, executive team, and business unit leaders.
  • Translate business priorities into people strategies that enable growth, operational efficiency, and workforce readiness.
  • Build and execute a multi‑year HR roadmap aligned with Holland’s expansion and organizational evolution.
  • Provide data‑driven insights to support decision‑making, workforce planning, and organizational design.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the HR team to deliver high‑quality service and support across the organization.
  • Establish clear roles, processes, and service standards to ensure consistency and scalability.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development within the HR function.
  • Oversee recruitment strategies to attract high‑caliber technical, commercial, and operational talent.
  • Build a proactive talent pipeline to support growth in engineering, manufacturing, sales, and leadership roles.
  • Partner with leaders to anticipate workforce needs and develop succession plans for critical positions.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and high‑performance culture aligned with Holland’s values.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters, ensuring fairness, consistency, and legal compliance.
  • Lead engagement initiatives, communication strategies, and manager capability‑building to strengthen the employee experience.
  • Oversee compensation structures, job architecture, and market benchmarking to ensure competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Partner with finance and leadership to design benefits and reward programs that support retention and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Strengthen leadership capability through coaching, training, and development programs.
  • Enhance performance management processes to drive accountability, clarity, and continuous feedback.
  • Support change management efforts related to growth, acquisitions, new systems, and organizational shifts.
  • Oversee HR policies, compliance, and risk mitigation across multiple states and business units.
  • Optimize HR systems, data integrity, and reporting to support efficient operations and informed decision‑making.
  • Ensure consistent, compliant HR practices across all Holland locations.
