About The Position

Upholds the Credit Union’s mission of “We do the right thing one member, one employee, and one experience at a time to strengthen the communities we serve” by implementing strategies to promote the overall image and brand of the credit union and its products and services. Primary responsibilities will include designing ads for traditional print and experiential channels, marketing collateral, signage and digital assets, providing ideas for campaigns and content; coordinating campaign and other assets; communicating with our agency partners, vendors, employees, and members; assisting with events and charitable activities; and looking for opportunities that promote the Credit Union philosophy. A design portfolio is required for consideration

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts or related field required.
  • 5+ years of print design, production experience and file preparation desired.
  • Strong conceptual thinking and ability to convey ideas through visual storytelling.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a willingness to push the boundaries of design and storytelling while maintaining the brand’s integrity, voice, and identity.
  • Must be proficient with Adobe Creative Suites, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro., and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, remain organized and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and maintain an extremely high degree of accuracy as it relates to promotional material.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with a diverse group of employees, both on an individual basis as well as in group settings.
  • Requires strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication.
  • Great team player with strong work ethic with the ability to adapt in changing situations and communicate positively.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems.
  • Able to read, write, and comprehend detailed and technical instructions, and translate technical (procedural) information for a non-technical audience.
  • Able to learn industry regulations and compliance in relation to promotional materials.
  • Possesses the ability to exercise a high degree of independent judgment and support overall business objectives.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Photography, Video editing or HTML5, CSS skills desired.
  • Experience using project management software desired.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating both traditional and digital marketing design, with an emphasis on print graphics for Capital Credit Union branches, letters and mailers, event signage, and other items need for member experience. Digital design work for social media, web graphics, and other items as needed.
  • Develop and execute content and medium strategies with the whole marketing team in alignment with organizational strategy.
  • Create, maintain, update, and evolve print materials, templates and optimize content for use by the marketing department.
  • Communicates aesthetic design choices and intentions with stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Partner with Brand and Digital team to conduct A/B testing to address design, and functionality (to ensure it is not only visually appealing, but it also optimizes for conversion).
  • Develop storyboards, mood boards, and other visual aids to outline communicate storytelling concepts.
  • Maintain strong understanding of the brand identity and ensure that all visual storytelling adheres to established brand guidelines.
  • Contribute to the evolution of brand narratives and visual elements, enhancing the brands storytelling capabilities.
  • Evaluates purpose of content via audience, mode of distribution, tone, style, and budgetary considerations prior to starting design requests.
  • Designs content per request from areas around the credit union.
  • Ensures overall brand integrity is maintained throughout the credit union’s various mediums.
  • Manages Capital’s print and digital materials for front line support through internal intranet or processes.
  • Organizes print materials with vendors, departments or other stakeholders and coordinates delivery and quality.
  • Creates and assists with the execution of ongoing branding campaigns, promotions, and content creation.
  • Keeps up to date on digital and print design trends and best practices and tactics.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • In addition to the primary duties, may assist the department in various other duties including, but not limited to, special event participation and planning, such as grand openings, annual meetings, and on-site sponsored events.
  • Availability after hours and weekends is sometimes needed to assist the marketing team in brand execution.
  • Limited travel required to various branches, meetings, seminars, and conferences.
