About The Position

As Senior Graphic Designer, you will be the expert and hands-on craft lead for print, packaging, and retail designwithin our in-house agency. Reporting to the Senior Brand Designer, you will create high-quality visual assets that elevate the brand across packaging, in-store communication, retail touchpoints, windows, and printed campaign materials. Requirements

  • Degree in Graphic Design, Print, Packaging, or Communication Design (or equivalent).
  • 6–8+ years of experience in print and packaging design; experience in fashion, lifestyle, or beauty is a strong advantage.
  • Deep expertise in typography, layout, print production, materials, and packaging systems.
  • Strong understanding of retail environments and how design translates into physical spaces.
  • Proven ability to deliver premium, technically accurate production files.
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Cloud: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop; knowledge of packaging software or 3D visualization tools is a plus.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Craft-driven designer with a passion for beautiful, functional print and packaging execution.
  • Strong collaborator with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Solution-oriented, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.
  • Thrives in a highly creative, brand-led environment.

  • Hybrid working, minimum 3 days per week working in our office based in Hilversum, Netherlands. This is not a remote-working role.

Responsibilities

  • Team Culture & People Leadership Build and nurture a culture of trust, open communication, psychological safety, and camaraderie. Foster a high-performing team culture with performance management, goal setting, coaching, training, regular feedback and overseeing day-to-day design tasks Mentor junior designers and interns, oversee external agencies and freelancers Organisational planning, and overseeing the recruitment and onboarding of new team members to ensure the design team is resourced for current and future needs Ensure teams feel supported, aligned, and empowered to do their best work.
  • Graphic Design (Print, Packaging & Retail) Design and deliver high-quality layouts for print collateral, campaign toolkits, signage, lookbooks, postcards, OOH, in-store communication, and window materials. Own packaging design from concept through production: dielines, artwork builds, material considerations, technical specifications, and final print-ready files. Translate brand identity into retail and spatial touchpoints, ensuring consistency across POS materials, store signage, packaging suites, and branded retail elements. Collaborate closely with the Senior Brand Designer to ensure designs align with seasonal creative directions and campaign concepts. Ensure all files meet strict technical production standards, partnering with printers, suppliers, and internal sourcing teams.
  • Brand Consistency Uphold and apply the brand’s visual identity across all print and retail executions. Develop and maintain seasonal templates, guidelines, and production files for packaging and retail design assets. Support the Senior Brand Designer in refining brand standards for physical touchpoints.
  • Collaboration Partner with Art Directors on campaign rollouts that require printed or retail formats. Work with Retail/VM teams to translate campaign concepts into in-store applications. Liaise with Sourcing and Product teams for packaging innovation and material updates. Support Creative Operations with planning, timelines, and production requirements.
  • Process & Production Own assigned projects end-to-end, from concept to final artwork delivery. Prepare accurate production files with proper color management, dielines, formats, and printer specifications. Manage asset libraries, naming conventions, and version control in shared systems. Ensure work is reviewed and approved by the Senior Brand Designer and Creative Brand Director before stakeholder distribution.
  • Sustainability & Innovation Design with sustainability top of mind: reducing waste, optimizing materials, and contributing to Hunkemöller’s responsible packaging initiatives. Explore new materials, print techniques, and packaging innovations that elevate both customer experience and brand perception. Stay up to date on industry trends in print, packaging, and retail design.
