About The Position

The Senior Graphic Design Specialist supports Louisiana Economic Development’s mission by creating clear, compelling, and consistent visual communications that advance economic development, workforce initiatives, business recruitment, and stakeholder engagement. Working closely with the Graphics Production Manager and creative team, this position develops visual materials that support statewide programs, internal divisions, partner organizations, and external audiences. This role balances creative innovation with strategic execution, ensuring that all visual communications strengthen LED’s brand, communicate complex information effectively, and support organizational goals. The Senior Graphic Design Specialist contributes to concept development, storyboarding, and production of visual assets for marketing campaigns, digital engagement, training and workforce materials, interactive experiences, presentations, and web-based media. Strong collaboration, communication, and project management skills are essential. This position also supports internal efficiency by helping establish procedures, reviewing creative materials, and maintaining quality and brand standards across all deliverables.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of professional graphic design experience, preferably in an in-house or agency environment
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating brand, marketing, and digital design expertise
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Solid understanding of typography, color theory, layout principles, and visual hierarchy

Responsibilities

  • Design and produce high-quality visual assets that support LED’s economic development initiatives, workforce programs, business recruitment efforts, and internal communications. Deliver materials for digital, print, presentation, and web platforms that clearly convey messaging to businesses, partners, policymakers, and the public.
  • Ensure all creative deliverables align with LED brand guidelines, accessibility standards, and messaging priorities. Review and refine materials for accuracy, consistency, and visual integrity. Assist in maintaining and updating brand assets, templates, and design standards to ensure consistent statewide representation.
  • Collaborate with internal divisions, program teams, and leadership to develop visual concepts, storyboards, and creative solutions that support program goals. Translate strategic objectives into effective visual storytelling while aligning creative direction with organizational priorities.
  • Incorporate feedback from internal stakeholders, external partners, and leadership in a responsive and professional manner. Balance creative vision with stakeholder needs while maintaining quality, clarity, and consistency across all revisions.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Coordinate workflows to improve efficiency, ensure timely delivery, and support internal clients across LED.
  • Prepare and finalize files for print and digital production, ensuring technical accuracy, proper formats, and production readiness. Coordinate with vendors or internal teams as needed to support successful execution.
