About The Position

The Senior Furniture Designer is responsible for creating innovative and functional designs for large and complex interior environments in commercial and industrial buildings. This role involves both pre-sale and post-sale design activities, including space planning, furniture selection, and layout development to meet client needs and project specifications. The Senior Furniture Designer collaborates closely with sales teams, clients, and vendors to deliver tailored solutions that align with aesthetic, functional, and budgetary requirements. With a focus on high-quality design and customer satisfaction, this position plays a key role in transforming interior spaces into efficient and visually appealing environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• This position requires knowledge of mathematical calculations and basic application of geometry and algebra acquired through formal education, or 2 - 3 years on-the-job application. Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in interior design.

Responsibilities

• Consult with sales representative and interface directly with customer to determine parameters of the project, which include architectural preferences, purpose and function of environment, budget, types of construction, equipment to be installed, and other factors which affect planning interior environments.
• Create floor plans, furniture plans, complex panel plans, installation drawings, electrical and communication plans, and/or detail drawings of application.
• Perform all computer aided programming (CAP) functions necessary in specification, management, or organization of project data. Select fabrics and finishes and make suggestions for accessories. Manage presentation documents and process. Verify product application with vendors.
• Create color and finish schedules, complete specification for furnishings, upholstery, accessories, window, wall, and floor treatment. Select and design or purchase furnishings, artwork, and accessories.
• Provide project status reviews and review installation drawings with Project Managers or sales representatives to ensure design project meets customer's expectations. Review drawings and specifications with key people.
• Perform project needs analysis including space planning and product suggestion. Create specifications and .SIF files.
• Deliver complex design ideas through presentation boards, binders, floor plans, isometrics, and other drawings or illustrations and/or perspectives to successfully communicate the design theme and plan to the sales representative and customer.
