About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join the team at Hinge! In this role, you will lead the evolution of the internal web applications and infrastructure that power our most critical operations. Your work will focus on empowering our Trust & Safety moderation and support teams to protect our community, and on building the tools that enable our staff to work more effectively. As a senior contributor, you will collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team of data engineers, designers, and product managers to solve complex workflow challenges. Whether you are scaling tools for human review or building flexible systems to support engineering, your work will directly increase Hinge’s operational efficiency and user safety. This is a high-impact opportunity to build versatile, production-ready tools that serve diverse stakeholders and shape our internal product ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Fullstack Expertise: 5+ years of experience delivering production-ready code across the entire stack.
  • Backend Proficiency: Strong command of backend development, and prior working knowledge of Go a bonus!
  • Frontend Architecture: Deep knowledge of React and building UIs that integrate seamlessly with backend APIs.
  • Software Engineering Fundamentals: Solid foundation in core principles with a proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Distributed Systems: Experience building and scaling distributed environments using event-driven, and cloud-based architectures with Kubernetes, gRPC/Protobuf, Argo, Kafka.
  • Technical Communication: Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

  • Internal Tooling: Build essential infrastructure and UIs that empower Trust & Safety and Operations teams to manage user lifecycles, account integrity, and moderation workflows.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, design, data, and UXR to deliver technical solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Fullstack Development: Design and build scalable frontend and backend features with a consistent focus on high-quality code.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Manage projects from conception to completion while maintaining clear communication with leadership and stakeholders.
  • Cloud-Native Engineering: Develop within a modern stack including Go, React, Kubernetes, AWS, gRPC, Postgres, Redis, and Kafka.
  • Active Team Participation: Engage in team ceremonies, and participate in a weeklong alternating on-call rotation.
