This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will d evelop, release, and support of engineering artifacts across the development cycle to support hardware fabrication, assembly, verification, test and operations.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or related field
  • 7+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Demonstrated ability in pneumatic system analysis and piping design including process component selection and compressed gas system architecture
  • I n depth knowledge of pneumatic system components (i.e. valves, regulators, air dryers, filters, actuators, and compressors for compressed air, nitrogen, and other control gases)
  • Knowledge of standard installation and fabrication methods of piping systems (pipe stock, fittings, connections, fasteners, welding, etc.)
  • Practical knowledge of ASME B31.3 and relevant compressed gas system standards
  • Competency with AFT analysis products or equivalent software

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Engineering degree
  • Experience with Creo and Windchill
  • Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Plant/P&ID
  • Experience with Thermal Desktop
  • Experience operating test/launch facilities

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the design of pneumatic and and high pressure gas systems.
  • Lead Process Hazard Analysis activities for pneumatic systems (HAZOP)
  • Lead technical direction and architecture decisions for pneumatic system design and implementation
  • Manage suppliers and coordinate cost, schedule, and technical design requirements
  • Provide remote and on-the-ground support during fabrication, installation, and start up of new facilities or upgrades
  • Prepare project plans including budget, schedule, and work breakdown
  • Coordinate with customers on refinement of project scope and requirements
  • Mentor newer engineers and perform peer reviews (as appropriate with level of experience)
