About The Position

The Senior Financial Planning Specialist is responsible for reviewing client information entered into eMoney by the Financial Planning Team, training team members on financial planning techniques, and reviewing output with Wealth Advisors as needed. They will work directly with team management to manage the daily team workflow, create training plans, and provide feedback and assistance with process improvement. In this role, you will need to be proactive and seek out new opportunities to assist advisors in planning more effectively, maximizing data, defining best practices and identifying high-impact activities for the entire Planning Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
  • Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation required (or in process)
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the Financial Planning Industry
  • Understands major financial planning components.
  • Experience with eMoney or other financial planning software

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for collaborating with our team in creating and implementing detailed financial plans in eMoney. The plans will be drafted in accordance with our comprehensive approach to financial planning based on The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards
  • Must be able to analyze eMoney reports and complex estate documents to ensure accuracy of all information within the eMoney platform.
  • Review inputs and Advanced Plan techniques prepared by the team and provide feedback and training when necessary. Will also review planning scenarios created outside of team as requested.
  • Prepare financial planning scenarios and test for accuracy, soundness and effectiveness. Must be able to discuss and explain scenarios with Advisors.
  • Assist with team training by managing the weekly financial planning presentations, preparing presentations on various topics, and reviewing team member presentations. Provide support and mentoring to team members to develop career building skills as it pertains to financial planning.
  • Areas of emphasis include financial goals and retirement needs analysis, Social Security and Medicare planning, education planning, tax projections, charitable planning, insurance planning needs, executive compensation and stock option analysis, estate planning, and cash flow analysis.
  • Requires client interaction as it pertains to presenting the functionality of eMoney to clients and prospects, training and education for internal eMoney users and preparing financial planning scenarios for Advisors.
  • Solid understanding of personal financial planning and income tax issues.
  • Clients' finances can include a variety of unique components and requires the candidate to quickly understand how those unique components work together to help our clients reach their financial goals.

  • Stay abreast of software changes, participate in weekly training and be able to communicate changes to internal and external clients.
  • Become knowledgeable in other MAI software programs as they pertain to eMoney
  • Must be able to elevate issues and ask questions when appropriate, take ownership of work product and be aware of how our work affects the organization.
