About The Position

To perform complex financial analysis and to provide supervisory guidance in a fiscal group of the Medical Branch.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent in a related field, and four (4) years of related experience in a financial or related field.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong computer skills, including adequate skills in Excel.
• Communicate well both verbally and in writing.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Work under pressure to meet established deadlines.
• Comfortable handling a wide variety of tasks on any given day

Nice To Haves

• Relevant accounting or financial experience in a healthcare or academic setting.
• CPA and/or MBA
• Experience with Power BI, PeopleSoft FMS, Epic Billing, and/or Hyperion.

Responsibilities

• Obtains knowledge of the Institution, integration of the department with other areas of the Institution, and department-specific processes.
• Mentors and trains other team members
• Coordinates and assists with month-end close journal entries, account reconciliations, including entries and reports related to net patient care revenue.
• Provides clear and accurate financial information, which enables senior management to make informed long-term and short-term decisions.
• Prepare reports as requested, which include financial reports, regulatory reports, audit requests, and various surveys.
• Develops and refines efficient processes that help to establish a clear financial picture of our Institution.
• Gains knowledge of available system resources and utilize in implementing more efficient processes.
• Adheres to established internal controls, identifies areas to strengthen or develop controls where needed.
• Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
• Provides outstanding customer service and works well both individually and as a team member.
