About The Position

Celebrity Cruises as a brand is repositioning itself in the market and is changing the modus operandis to provide elevated hospitality to the guests. Initiatives like Celebrity Ways, Common Cents, Think like an Owner, GROW and CocoCay require a deeper understanding of the P&L. As a Senior Analyst, the person is responsible for elevating the reporting to the Operating teams, identifying areas of opportunities aligned with the new initiatives. The Senior Analyst is responsible for creating new reporting to address better visibility at the ship level; and line of expense. This position supports all aspects of financial and administrative functions including planning, reporting, and business analysis for the Hotel Operations department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration or related field required.
  • 3+ years of work experience.
  • Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively with all levels of operational personnel.
  • Must have the ability to think independently and explain complex solutions in a simple manner.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling required, proficiency with Microsoft package.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA is a plus.
  • Proficiency with data analytics visualization software like PowerBi is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Smartview/EPM and Oracle JD Edwards Oneworld is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Provide detailed monthly analysis on operating plan performance and provide forecasts that support organizational goals and objectives.
  • Support the Hotel Operations finance budget, plan and forecast.
  • Create and maintain accurate reporting and analysis for Hotel Expenses lines.
  • Maintain and ensure that all cost controls are following Sarbanes Oxley, accounting and other company policies.
  • Support vendor evaluations and facilitate payment approvals and invoice processing.
  • Departmental Liaison to Accounting, Corporate Planning and Hotel Operations.
  • Payroll tracking of average compensation by position and audit of onboard workbooks.
  • Constant tracking of the gratuities collection, guest participation rate and impact to P&L.
  • Ability to provide every month end visibility of areas of risk.
  • C&R – constant communication with the ships and operations team. Understanding of true consumption and projections based on trend. Working on a quarterly basis to understand the Replaceables needs and anticipate bigger spend for better forecast.
  • Manage and control the entertainment bottoms up forecasting, partner with the entertainment team to create control for entertainer fees. Understand and project entertainer’s payroll cycle.
  • Investigate, create and manage the inventory cycle, including control for excess and obsolete items. Partner with operations team to understand purchase cycle vs inventory onboard, create tools to provide us visibility to excess by ship.
  • Responsible for loading to operation forecasts and plans.
  • Prepare and/or oversee all reclasses, accruals and other month end entries to be submitted to accounting.
  • Develop detail variance explanations to plan and forecast for variance analysis review.
  • Create/develop new tracking tools.
  • Prepare presentations and presents them to mid leadership in Operations.
  • Has ownership of P&L lines, responsible for variances to forecast.
  • Must maintain good relationships with Operations team to manage risks and opportunities to forecast.
  • Performs other duties as required.
