About The Position

The FP&A Senior Financial Analyst is part of a team responsible for designing and implementing processes that promote the long-term planning and analysis of Audax Private Equity, its affiliates, and its principals. The candidate will assist the company’s principals in making management decisions by working with various departments and external managers to develop integrated plans and budgets, as well as developing the systems driving the decision making. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player with strong technical skills able to materialize concepts into effective, concise, and timely analysis. In addition to demonstrating a broad understanding of finance, investments, and accounting, candidates will be assessed based on their capabilities in three key areas: 1) Developing and maintaining integrated firm-wide business models 2) Performing recurring and ad hoc financial and operational analyses and reporting 3) Assisting in the development and implementation of systems and processes

Requirements

  • 4 -7 years professional experience in an analytical role developing financial models utilizing data driven systems
  • BS in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related major, with a solid grasp of investments and an exceptional GPA
  • Technologically savvy with advanced Microsoft Excel modeling skills
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft products, specifically Excel
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • CPA/CFA/CFP/MBA preferred or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience with alternative investments, especially private equity and hedge funds, a plus
  • Experience with Anaplan or other budgeting/forecasting software, fund accounting software, and SQL or Snowflake language a plus
  • Good understanding of accounting a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to break down complex concepts and explain them

Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining fund-level and operating models for performance projections and business analysis, including carried interest waterfalls
  • Developing analytical models to project the effect of various inputs on fund performance
  • Running sensitivity and scenario analyses, which include tax impacts, around model inputs
  • Preparing business forecasts, including reporting of actuals and analysis of forecasted data
  • Updating sale proceeds waterfalls for individual investments as well as funds, including estimates of carried interest
  • Constructing hypothetical models to evaluate new products and the profitability of new strategies
  • Improving current models’ efficiency and flexibility
  • Assisting in responses to fundraising and investor requests
  • Executing weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting packages
  • Quality-control of accounting data in Investran and NetSuite
  • Model variance research and reconciliation
  • Internal models and reports updated for financing and valuation changes
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and meet project deadlines
  • Learning and understanding current processes and looking for areas of improvement
  • Interacting professionally with internal and external affiliates and principals
