About The Position

Position Summary: The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing complex accounting functions and supporting the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of Jamul Casino Resort’s financial records. Duties include assuming a support role to monitor accounting personnel in daily tasks, reviewing financial data. Responsibilities include assisting at end of month including general ledger, fixed assets, financial statements, property and inventory accountability, assisting in payroll and other special projects as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary: · Provide friendly, fast, and helpful guest service to all guests and team members. · Review all general ledger transactions for proper classification and matching principle in cooperation with the Director of Finance. · Assists Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Revenue with proper GL Coding. · Responsible for assisting in the month-end General Ledger closing process to ensure financial statements are accurate and thorough. Including month end accrual and other adjusting journal entries, as necessary. · Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close. · Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information. · Complete timely and accurate Balance Sheet reconciliations monthly. · Produces monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and ad hoc financial reports. · Prepare work papers for the annual external audit and reconcile audited financial statements. · Review of the department’s work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy. · Provide training to new and existing staff as needed. · Maintain organized set of detailed records and files to document financial transactions. Records Management. · Work closely with department managers to ensure they have a thorough understanding of their expenses and general accounting procedures. · Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow. · Reviews monthly and quarterly gaming reports and other compliance reports. Assist with Gaming audits to ensure compliance with MICS. · Must adhere to regulatory, department and company policies and procedures. · Perform other job-related duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Five years’ accounting experience in addition to education
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications.
