About The Position

AIRTEC, an international aviation company, is currently seeking a highly qualified Senior Financial Accountant to work at our corporate headquarters located in California, MD. The selected candidate will be supporting our accounting and contracts departments by performing a number of financial activities. The successful candidate will be organized and will be able to communicate effectively. Qualified candidates are required to have a current CPA or are currently working towards one. This position offers the potential for growth into a manager level position.

Requirements

  • Strong multitasking, time management and organizational skills.
  • Must have good analytical skills and a sound understanding of GAAP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Deltek Costpoint and ADP is a plus.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • CPA or currently working to obtain CPA license.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience. Public accounting experience is preferred.

  • Public accounting experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint and ADP is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Company’s financial statements.
  • Review financial statements for operating trends and results, researching any significant variances.
  • Prepare financial schedules and analyses.
  • Assist in billing on government/commercial contracts whilst providing guidance on entering and analyzing in Costpoint.
  • Take an active role in overseeing various accounting processes including but not limited to accounts payable, billing, and inventory.
  • Maintain an effective cash management system.
  • Take ownership of collections to be able to accurately forecast the timing of incoming payments.
  • Participate in the annual external audit.
  • Conduct physical inventory audits.
  • Process payroll in ADP
  • Ensure compliance with Company’s policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and projects as requested by management.
