About The Position

Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) Finance is driving shareholder value across all Microsoft Worldwide (WW) subsidiaries and carries local accountability for Financial, Statutory and Compliance matters across all segments and products. Within MCAPS Finance, the AI Business Solutions (ABS) Customer Solution Area (CSA) Finance team is focused on the AI Work Force, incl. Copilot and AI Business Process product portfolios and accountable for (1) delivering financial performance insights with focus on actionable recommendations to drive further sales growth, (2) owning fiscal year revenue planning that delivers on business priorities and optimizes for strategic investment return, (3) collaborating across Product Group (PG) and Field Finance to opine on in-year forecasting and push for closest to the pin scenario and (4) working closely with the ABS Sales Territory Unit (STU) teams to drives sales planning, enablement and execution. The Senior Finance Manager will lead and execute core finance processes across forecast, planning, and Go-To-Market (GTM) for Copilot, focusing on M365 Copilot and Copilot Chat in the SME&C segments. The Senior Finance Manager will partner with the WW STU GTM team and consolidate insights related to Copilot, partner on sales strategy and execution with the business, Field controllers, driving impactful insight across the end to end Copilot in SME&C, related sales motions, usage and opportunity identification. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to influence and drive impact in the fastest growing and most important portfolio of the company, by influencing sales growth, fueling usage and landing framework for opportunity identification. The role is part of the broader AI Business Solutions MCAPS Core Finance team and will work in team with our other subject matter experts covering Frontier Transformation portfolio. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Performs and reviews analysis of present and future financial performance, financial plans (e.g., expected returns, resource allocation, pricing, investment opportunities), and economic transactions (e.g., customer deals, commercial partnerships, acquisitions). Prepares and summarizes recommendations. Generates relevant and actionable insights to drive the business forward.
  • Works directly with business partners to translate top-down targets to an accountable budget for each group. Completes and reviews analysis, modeling, and research to support preliminary and adjusted forecast cycles. Partners and solicits insight from business and commercial stakeholders
  • Conceptualizes and designs new approaches and metrics to how relevant financial data is collected and evaluated to impact future outcomes and decisions. Investigates and resolves discrepancies in data to ensure reliability. Performs risk management practices by analyzing the data management flows/sources for completeness and accuracy. Acts as subject matter expert for defining cross CSA frameworks.
  • Consults with business leaders on implications of results, operating revenue and GTM KPIs; provides guidance to achieving objectives and maximizing return-on-investment. Performs and reviews analysis, modeling, and research of present and future financial performance, financial plans (e.g. expected returns, resource allocation, investment opportunities, revenue, operational and productivity metrics). Prepares and summarizes recommendations.
  • Shares business insights and advances solutions and action plans to drive business and commercial leader goals and short-term accountabilities. Provides credible insights into industry benchmarks and consumer trends, performance improvements, and growth. Facilitates resolving complex issues. Manages and executes processes through engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Applies understanding of the broader Microsoft context to offer solutions to ensure organizational objectives are met. Develops and manages strategies to proactively mitigate, or reactively address, potential adverse effects of macroeconomic and/or geopolitical risks. Articulates a comprehensive view of financial results and approaches leaders can implement based on a deep understanding of business partner and counterpart work context and situation. Consider competing view and alternative solutions when formulating recommendations for financial plans and forecasts.
  • Develops and leverages relationships with business partners to bolster sales, and to understand and manage business risk. Designs and negotiate solutions to complex financial issues with business partners. Applies understanding of advanced technology to accomplish business goals and to provide greater depth of analysis.
  • Understands the interconnections between data, information, and results and translates this into forward-looking narratives and forecasts. Provides clarity and alignment with senior leaders. Implements creative ways to show patterns and draw conclusions to help drive decisions and clearly communicate findings. Generates actionable plans based on complex results, ambiguous findings, and multi-year time horizons. Articulates understanding and awareness of business partner situations.
  • Drives the right tone from executive leadership and ensures strict adherence and understanding of Microsoft policies on risk and compliance. Influences leadership to ensure compliance is a top priority and modeled throughout the organization. Drives a compliant culture through actions and decisions to instill trust. Advocates, educates, and promotes best practices and new developments. Encourages asking questions and identifying risks to compliance. Champions Microsoft privacy, security, and ethical standards. Advances key compliance initiatives.
