The Senior Finance Manager (Global Logistics) is a member of both the Terminals & Pipelines (T&P) and Commercial Midstream & Logistics (CM&L) Leadership teams, as well as the Refining & Biofuels Finance Leadership Team. This position supports US Pipelines, a FERC regulated business - including several operated joint ventures (JVs) - but also activity for US Truck and Rail. Results will directly impact other businesses in the US. The US finance team consisting of 11 members is geographically disbursed and works closely with personnel in both CM&L and T&P. It also supports terminal and secondary transportation activity in numerous European countries directing day-to-day financial activities with indirect leadership of dedicated resources residing within ST&S. Accountable for delivery of finance priorities within the CM&L businesses across continents, as well as activity in support of 4 JVs in the United States, you will enable strategic and commercial objectives to be met, both internally & externally. This role supports the delivery of the business strategy and financial roadmap, including the assessment of risk. Holding both CM&L and T&P businesses to account for the impact that their activities will have on financial outcomes and accountable for intervening when delivery risk emerges. Providing finance expertise into business decision-making, you will create and protect sustainable value for bp. The role is required to collaborate across businesses and supporting functions to optimize and protect integrated value, as appropriate within the US FERC regulations. The role oversees delivery of external results to both JV partners and the FERC. It ensures compliance with financial output via four annual external audits. Sitting on several operated JV boards, officer of several pipeline entities and a key financial liaison with finance staff within our non-operated JV investments. What you will do... Work closely with our business partners to support US JV growth agendas, providing business insights and evaluating transformational and operational opportunities that arise across the world, including coordination with ST&S and other C&P finance personnel. Lead a geographically disbursed US team and hold responsibility for finance activities for the European and South African T&P and CM&L businesses, providing indirect leadership to the ESA finance team. Deliver across the business and functional finance teams for various strategic activities while monitoring overall strategic momentum and financial delivery. Work closely with the business to support delivery of business improvement plans (BIP), Solomon benchmarking studies, BPRs and OPRs. This role is also responsible for delivery of the GFO ensuring linkage to the performance planned in the BIP. Ensure business process compliance as well as technical accounting accuracy across IFRS, US GAAP and FERC, resulting in quality data and robust performance management and reporting. Deliver financial results to Group, as well as JV partners in a structured, controlled fashion ensuring compliance with Group procedures as well as all Agreement requirements. Finance partner for the VPs of CM&L and T&P providing assurance of a robust financial framework that supports overall financial delivery & investment assurance - coupled with providing an independent view and challenging commercial decision making as appropriate. Direct accountability and leadership of ARC, PPM and financial activity within the US business and networks across the team and FBT to ensure robust financial processes are maintained and enhanced. Support large financial programs, including transformational activity and system enhancements. What you will bring... Significant experience in a commercial finance role, with responsibilities including technical accounting, planning and performance management, leading financial delivery of a business and delivering change projects across the organization. Deep accounting expertise, knowledge of financial systems and financial frameworks as well as understanding of local regulatory frameworks in which the business operates. Strong leadership, grounded in emotional intelligence with an empowering attitude and cross-cultural collaborative spirit. Ability to see the big picture, anticipate issues including financial implications and support creation of solutions while maintaining an independent perspective. Strong business /commercial competence. Ability to work within and across globally diverse teams and cultures; building solid relationships built on trust. Significant process expertise across control, planning and performance and commercial activities. Skilled in problem-solving. For example driving resolution of critical issues relating to commercial options or business to business disagreements etc. A positive role model for business integrity, values, and behaviours. Relevant qualification in Business and/or Finance or equivalent. CPA licence is also preferred. Experience with the pipeline business and an understanding of key business drivers and emerging external FERC requirements is preferred, with ability to field questions from other businesses accepting charges for truck/rail/barge/terminal operations. Knowledge and experience working with Energy/Manufacturing/Retail/Supply/Logistics business in addition to JV management would be an added advantage.
