About The Position

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. While working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to solve big picture challenges. Global Affairs is composed of teams that are experts in technology issues that lie at the intersection of user Trust and Safety, public policy, regulation and compliance. Trust and Safety is a cross-product area functional team that focuses on fighting abuse and addressing customer-facing quality issues across nearly all of Google's key products including Ads, Search, Play, Android, YouTube and Gen AI. The organization acts as valued partners to the product areas and cross-functionally in understanding and planning for these issues and represents Google externally. The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.
  • Experience partnering with Trust and Safety and product area finance partners to manage workflow and the impact to business, brand or legal/regulatory risk.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or other Advance degree.
  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams.
  • Experience with SQL and data visualization tools with the ability to operate and grow in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
  • Knowledge of accounting and core finance processes with a focus on standard finance systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Ability to communicate insights to stakeholders including highly technical management teams.
  • Excellent problem-framing, problem-structuring and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Trust and Safety to develop the location strategy taking into consideration cost as well as understanding organization shape from a role and level perspective and how the team expects to evolve going forward.
  • Understand AI opportunities to automate workflows and the impact that will have on temporary staff, vendors, and contractors (TVCs) and full-time employee resources.
  • Identify and define key operational metrics to measure the performance of the business and the implications from a finance perspective.
