The Opportunity As a Senior Experience Research Consultant at UserTesting, you’ll help some of the world’s leading brands build customer empathy and make smarter, experience-led decisions. You’ll act as a strategic research partner—guiding organizations as they scale their research practices, operationalize insights, and embed continuous discovery into how they build products and services. This is a high-impact, consultative role where you’ll lead complex research initiatives, mentor other consultants, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive meaningful outcomes for our customers. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in user experience research or research consulting
  • Strong expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods (e.g., usability testing, moderated interviews, card sorting, tree testing, click testing, concept testing)
  • Demonstrated experience embedding research into product development lifecycles and influencing business decisions
  • Proven ability to facilitate workshops, train cross-functional teams, and communicate insights through compelling storytelling
  • Experience mentoring or coaching researchers or consultants
  • Experience using AI within research processes or testing AI-powered products and experiences
  • Familiarity with remote research and user testing platforms (UserTesting experience preferred)
  • Experience working in cross-functional, fast-paced consulting or customer-facing environments
  • Remote role based in the United States
  • Occasional travel required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience embedding experience insights beyond UX and Product teams (e.g., Marketing, CX, Operations)
  • Familiarity with insight repository platforms such as EnjoyHQ or Dovetail
  • Experience in specific industries or vertical markets

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted research advisor, helping customers build and scale sustainable research programs
  • Lead complex research engagements from study design through insight delivery, ensuring clarity, rigor, and business impact
  • Align research initiatives to customer business goals, bringing strategic thinking and commercial awareness to every engagement
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions on topics such as research operations, scaling insights, and measuring impact
  • Guide customers on UserTesting methodologies and platform best practices, tailoring recommendations to their research maturity
  • Mentor junior consultants, supporting their growth in research craft and consultative skills
  • Partner with Customer Success and Account teams to drive adoption, retention, and long-term customer value
