About The Position

The Wake County Attorney's Office is searching for our next Senior Executive Assistant who will report directly to the County Attorney. In this role you will provide a broad array of confidential senior-level administrative support to the County Attorney, in-house Attorneys, Paralegals and Risk Management personnel. You will serve as the liaison between our office and the County Manager’s office, Finance, Budget, Human Resources, Information Services, General Services, vendors, and suppliers to keep the office running in accordance with Wake County policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Business Administration, Office Administration, or a related field
  • Three years of experience in increasingly responsible administrative and Executive support work
  • Valid Driver’s License and “safe” driving record
  • Ability to demonstration strong imitative
  • Exemplary problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), strong customer service and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to exercise independence and sound judgment in carrying out the duties of the position
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Ability to conduct administrative processes consistently and effectively
  • Knowledge of county purchasing and human resources policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and various legal documents and processes
  • Excellent Microsoft Office suite skills
  • Ability to greet clients, answer phones and serve as the point of contact for County Attorney’s office in a professional and courteous manner

  • Prior administrative experience working in a law office
  • Seven years of experience in increasingly responsible administrative support role
  • Ten years of experience as an Office Manager

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Office Manager between two locations
  • Answer incoming calls and greet visitors
  • Cover front desk for County Attorney Office which includes answering phone calls, processing mail, assisting in-office visitors and county executives
  • Serve as the department Human Resources Representative by scheduling interviews, onboarding new employees and keeping staff informed of human resources updates
  • Submit personnel actions into HR management system
  • Manage financial transactions for the County Attorney’s Office, including but not limited to operating budget, purchases, supplies and services, ensuring purchasing rules and standards are met
  • Process p-card transactions, travel authorizations, reimbursements, and contracts ensuring purchasing rules and standards are met
  • Write business cases for expansion and/or capital improvements
  • Set-up and maintain the library, file room and supply room
  • Keep staff informed on changes in Wake County policies and procedures
  • Work on special projects as needed
