About The Position

The Senior Event Sales Manager at View Boston is responsible for driving private event revenue by securing and managing corporate, social, and special event bookings at one of Boston’s most iconic venues. This role focuses on prospecting new business, building strong relationships with event planners, DMCs, corporate clients, and industry partners, and converting inquiries into high-value events that showcase the unique skyline experience of View Boston. The Senior Event Sales Manager leads the full sales cycle—from lead generation and client consultations to proposal development, contract negotiation, and event handoff to operations. They serve as a key ambassador for the brand within Boston’s meetings and events community, representing the venue at networking events, site tours, and industry functions. Success in this role requires strong sales instincts, deep knowledge of the Boston events market, exceptional client service, and the ability to position View Boston as a premier destination for unforgettable private events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required from four-year College or University – preferably in Hospitality, Business, or Marketing or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience, preferably in a high-volume sales or event management role.
  • Proven leadership experience in a sales environment including coaching, mentoring, hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Ability to delegate effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously within time constraints and with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and leadership skills, along with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills a must; understanding of data analysis, research process, market patterns, and demographic trends.
  • Creative and resourceful with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Experience managing a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience with professional photography equipment, and photographing live events is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales for private and corporate events, including parties, conferences, and more.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to achieve and exceed event sales targets.
  • Research, analyze, and develop special event profit generating opportunities.
  • Create leads and develop long-term relationships in the event planning, production, and promotion communities, and with other relevant companies, organizations, and groups.
  • Monitor changes and new developments in the special events industry.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors and partners.
  • Work closely with clients and event sales team to understand their needs and vision for their events.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution, including catering, food & beverage, operations, security, and venue technology.
  • Oversee the event process & logistics, including the sales cycle.
  • Oversee the successful execution of high-profile and large-scale events, including but not limited to reviewing sales contracts, payment terms and special considerations to ensure deliverables.
  • Update pricing models, refine packages, rate cards, and adjust revenue projections as required.
  • Oversee the events calendar, walk-throughs and site visits.
  • Partner closely with the catering team to support customized menus and ensure high-quality food and beverage service with internal and external culinary team.
  • Collaborate on contracts with catering vendors and maintain strong relationships.
  • Coordinate and partner on catering services with the team during events to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns for Events.
  • Represent the venue at industry events and networking events.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients from initial contact through post-event follow-up.
  • Conduct site tours and presentations for prospective clients.
  • Manage client inquiries, contracts, and negotiations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
