You will be a subject matter expert, analyzing facility operating systems and implementing maintenance programs to support efficient, high-quality delivery of the Starbucks experience to customers. The ideal candidate will model and act in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles. As a senior equipment specialist, Facilities Programs & Standards, you will Conduct research and analyze operational efficiencies, equipment utilization, and repair and maintenance trends. Consult with cross-functional teams to assess and define equipment serviceability, user needs and the application of appropriate technologies to maximize return on investment and effective life cycle management of coffeehouse equipment and on-going maintenance programs. Determine methods and data necessary to analyze equipment performance and improvement opportunities. Design reports that facilitate changes to equipment design and maintenance programs for enterprise-wide cost savings in partnership with engineering teams. Develop continuous improvement programs for facility operations and maintenance. Apply current and emerging technologies for all existing and evolving equipment, fixtures and facility systems. Serve as the liaison to our regional facilities organization and other business units impacted by the programs to ensure successful implementation and integration. Steer the development and implementation of programs that identify enhancements to existing facilities and equipment, resulting in quantifiable performance improvements such as predictive maintenance management, increased usable life analysis, decreased repair and maintenance costs, and reduced energy consumption. Support the centralized development of business requirements, processes, reporting, training and implementation of evolving facilities management systems to support dispatch centers and field organizations. Develops/participates in business reviews with stakeholders and authors whitepapers for programmatic changes in equipment, reviewing findings in a highly matrices organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum education of high school diploma/GED, US military service, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of working knowledge on how design can impact functionality of equipment design and development
  • Minimum of 3 years of working knowledge of how manufacturing can impact functionality of equipment manufacturing
  • Previous experience authoring technical documents or whitepapers for leadership review
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience using data analysis or business analytics on equipment performance
  • Minimum of 3 years of project/program management experience in a highly matrixed, cross-functional organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Willing to work out of the Starbucks Support Center (SSC) in Seattle 4 days per week

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity or previous experience with Espresso equipment a plus
  • Expertise in facilities equipment management within a Retail or QSR environment preferred

  • If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above.
  • For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
