About The Position

Under immediate supervision, performs responsible semi-skilled work in the operation of heavy equipment within the Sanitation Division.

Requirements

• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to the completion of the eleventh grade and considerable experience in the operation of motorized equipment.
• Possession of a North Carolina (CDL) Commercial Class A or B driver's license is required.
• Skills and experience in operating hoist and rear load packer.
• Knowledge of city and ability to understand and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Operates hoist truck, rear load packer, scow dump truck and leaf loader.
• Operates hoist truck in the collection of brush and bulky item collection, operates scow truck and lead loader in the collection of leaves.
• Responsible for safety practices of the crew with equipment and uniforms
• Will perform other skilled and semi-skilled work as assigned.
