About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring that all water leaving a Tyson water treatment facility meets the requirements set by local state and federal governments and for ensuring the city is informed if required of all changes in water quality or engineering processes. This requires maintaining treatment systems performing operational maintenance and keeping administrative records budgeting for sufficient funds to operate and maintain the treatment facility effectively and providing a safe working environment with proper safety equipment and tools for personnel. Other responsibilities include analyzing operational data to determine changes and improvements needed to accomplish objectives ensuring wastewater samples are correctly collected and sent to the lab for determining permit compliance and generating reports for the corporate office and government agencies as required. Other duties include aiding Wastewater Operators in maintaining their operator s license overseeing and maintaining the operation of pre-treatment or full-treatment equipment and performing other responsibilities as the need arises. Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Education beyond high school including special training, vocational school and/or college courses is preferred.
  • Experience: 3 plus years of environmental compliance experience; Wastewater certification license preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills such as checking electronic mail entering data into document templates or creating simple queries.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Supervisory: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.
  • Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year

  • Wastewater certification license preferred.
