About The Position

The Senior Environmental Services Director (Regional Support) is a dual-role leadership position responsible for direct Environmental Services Director (ESD) oversight of an assigned community while also serving as a regional support, mentor, and subject-matter expert for other Environmental Services Directors within the region. This role provides hands-on leadership for maintenance, housekeeping, life safety, and environmental services operations, while supporting regional initiatives such as training and onboarding, vendor management, capital planning, preventive maintenance optimization, pilot programs, and partial coverage for vacancies or leaves. The position works in close collaboration with the Regional Director of Operations, ownership, and site leadership to ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and cost-effective asset management across the region. This schedule includes: 80 hours per pay period weekends as needed

Requirements

  • 6 years Environmental Services, Facilities Management, or Maintenance leadership experience, preferably in assisted living, senior housing, healthcare, or hospitality.
  • Medical Exam Certification
  • Drivers License in good standing
  • Must be at least 18-years old
  • Must be insurable under the employers Auto Insurance Coverage
  • Must complete and pass in-house transportation curriculum course and pass driving evaluation.
  • Proven experience managing building systems, preventive maintenance programs, and vendor relationships.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and capital planning.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and direct oversight for Environmental Services (housekeeping, environmental services, and maintenance operations) at their assigned community to ensure a safe, clean, and well‑maintained community environment.
  • Manages building systems—including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety, and security, elevators, and energy management systems —while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Direct oversight of housekeeping and environmental services staff, including scheduling, performance management, coaching, and development.
  • Supervise staff, schedule daily work, coordinate apartment turns and facility updates and manages preventive maintenance and work‑order systems. Performs &/or coordinates painting, cleaning, carpeting and apartment updates.
  • Ensuring the community and grounds are safe, clean, attractive, and well-maintained for residents, families, staff, and visitors.
  • Partners with the Executive Director on budgeting, leads safety and emergency preparedness efforts, oversees vendor and contractor work, and ensures readiness for surveys and inspections.
  • Conducts and tracks Community emergency drills according to regulations and Ebenezer policy
  • Responsible for Community van / bus operations, safety, protocols, training and documentation.
  • Provides regional leadership and oversight for maintenance, utilities, and life‑safety systems across multiple properties.
  • Ensures effective operation and regulatory compliance, across assigned regional properties, of all major building systems—including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, elevators, security, and energy management—while partnering with Environmental Services Directors to assess system conditions and plan repairs or replacements.
  • Collaborate with Environmental Services Directors to monitor the condition of and forecast repair or replacement needs for HVAC, energy management, life safety, security, fire protection, elevators, electrical, and plumbing systems, setting up processes to scale the systems.
  • Support communities in managing and optimizing preventive maintenance services and contracts in accordance with individual facility guidelines.
  • Leads regional strategic planning for Environmental Services by partnering with ownership, operational leaders, and site Environmental Services Directors to continuously assess major building assets and forecast repair and replacement needs across the region.
  • In collaboration with ownership, operational leaders, and site Environmental Services Directors, supports the development of long‑term capital plans that promote budget predictability, asset longevity, and operational continuity.
  • Facilitates and leads regional Environmental Services meetings to ensure alignment, communication, and coordinated planning across communities.
  • Leads regional preventive maintenance operations by ensuring consistent service delivery, adherence to Ebenezer standards, and effective management of maintenance contracts across communities.
  • Leverages each community’s physical assets to strengthen regional performance, collaborating with the Regional Director of Operations and ownership to evaluate efficiency opportunities and establish best practices using shared purchasing power.
  • Provides direct, hands‑on support to site Environmental Services Directors, assisting with utilities, life safety, and physical plant challenges, while also serving as a resource for at‑risk communities, supporting corrective action plans, and offering coverage during vacancies or leaves.
  • Assist site operational leaders with interviewing, and hiring Environmental Services Directors and key maintenance personnel within the assigned region.
  • Optimize standardized training, onboarding, and professional development for Environmental Services leaders.
  • Mentor Environmental Services Directors &/or Supervisors, promoting consistent performance expectations and leadership growth.
  • Provide expert guidance in securing bids for capital improvements and general maintenance in accordance with Ebenezer guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities to improve pricing through streamlined or regional vendor agreements and negotiates cost‑effective solutions.
  • Partners with site teams and the Regional Director of Operations to monitor vendor performance, assess contract effectiveness, and recommend improvements to ensure quality, efficiency, and value across the region.
  • Collaborate with site and regional operations, site Environmental Services Directors and ownership related to capital planning and execution, including: Resource allocation; Expenditure tracking; Project oversight and progress reporting.
  • Ensure capital investments align with ownership directives, regulatory requirements, and community needs.
  • Ensure that capital project scoping is comprehensive in terms of capturing all dimensions of the project, and prevent unplanned or avoidable costs.
  • Leads regional adoption and effective use of the preventive maintenance and data‑tracking platform, ensuring consistent utilization and compliance across all communities.
  • Provides ongoing training, coaching, and technical support to site teams while monitoring operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Role is based at an assigned community with regular travel throughout the region.
  • Must be able to respond to after-hours emergencies 24/7 as needed and participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
