Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Soil Science or related field required
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience required; experience at an AEC firm, DOT, or regulatory agency preferred
- Proficiency with ArcMap or basic GIS Mapping, Microsoft Word & Excel
- Proficient theoretical scientific knowledge and ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license required; license/certification in technical discipline preferred
- Ability to work in the field under various weather conditions and physically navigate diverse environments

Responsibilities
- Lead the technical execution of major projects—from concept through completion—including establishing and tracking project milestones and managing budgets, schedules, and deliverables
- Conduct natural resource surveys including wetland delineations, wildlife habitat evaluations, and rare species surveys
- Design and conduct studies on key ecological issues to support public and private sector clients
- Prepare environmental documentation, permits, and mitigation plans for a variety of clients
- Maintain communication with clients to keep them apprised of project status and any changes in conditions
- Guide and mentor junior to mid-level scientists, fostering growth and technical excellence
- Oversee the preparation of large, complex environmental data sets, technical reports, and design tasks for bridge structures
- Lead the development of assessment reports and other reporting elements, as well as external presentations for clients, the public, and regulatory agencies
- Identify new project opportunities and assist with proposal development, including technical scope and budget estimates
