Senior Environmental Scientist (Tank Management)
About The Position
KeenLogic is seeking a Senior Scientist (Tank Management) to support their team with a government client, Washington Headquarters Services (WHS). This position is responsible for delivering Facility Environmental Compliance, Planning, and Resiliency Technical Support across Department of Defense (DoD) facilities. The role specifically focuses on ensuring compliance with environmental regulations related to petroleum, oil, and lubricants (POL), including aboveground and underground storage tanks. Key aspects of the role include supporting fueling operations, spill prevention planning, pollution control, regulatory coordination, and compliance auditing. This is a 5-year contract position.
Requirements
- Active Secret security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering OR Master’s degree in science or engineering
- 10+ years of experience with a bachelor’s OR 8+ years with a master’s
- Experience with aboveground and underground storage tank compliance
- Experience with fueling and fuel transfer operations
- Experience in the development of spill plans, tank management plans, and conducting contingency planning
- Experience meeting with regulators and operations
- Experience preparing reports, tracking data, and all associated regulatory documentation
- Experience performing internal compliance assessments and auditing
