About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Compliance & Regulatory Affairs, the Senior EHS Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in the administration of the EH&S program that provides a safe, healthy working environment for all employees.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in occupational safety, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous responsibilities with OSHA regulations.
  • Knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Environmental laws and regulations with an emphasis on hazardous waste disposal experience.
  • Efficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to effectively conduct trainings/orientations.
  • Ability to communicate with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
  • Any EHS certification highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and administer the EHS Department Team.
  • Monitor all areas for unsafe conditions, acts and potential hazards.
  • Enforce environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available and personnel are properly trained in its use.
  • Respond to accidents, incidents, and near misses.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and identify and eliminate root cause.
  • Conduct daily/weekly inspections of the facilities to ensure compliance with OSHA, TCEQ and other required regulations.
  • Assist with management of the company non-subscriber injured worker benefit program.
  • Regularly communicate with the Human Resources department regarding policies, Non-subscriber claims, and/or the selection of modified duty positions for employees on restrictive duty based on medical restrictions.
  • Ensure safety and health policies are updated as needed to ensure continuing compliance with state, federal and local regulations.
  • Maintain environmental documentation such as waste manifests and coordinate with regulatory authorities as needed.
  • Maintain safety records.
  • Conduct training as needed including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Hazard Communication (HazCom), Emergency Action Plan (EAP), Respiratory Protection, Lockout/Tagout, Powered Industrial Truck, Hearing Conversation, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
