Collins Aerospace is seeking a talented Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of FPGA designers and verifiers responsible for the development of various FPGA devices used in a broad portfolio of Collins display and computing products. This growing organization has the charter to develop safety critical devices in a cost competitive environment that enables Collins to maintain an industry leading position in Avionics for display and computing products used in both commercial and military platforms. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of FPGA development practices, military/commercial certification, and experience leading execution teams. What You Will Do: Technical direction: Candidate will lead a team and apply sound engineering principles related to Avionics FPGA development. Project management: Candidate will guide team members on the management of scope, schedule, and budget for engineering design activities to ensure success of team in meeting program milestones and budgets. The candidate may be involved in project management and execution, including Earned Value and Risk Management. Process management: Candidate will guide team members on the utilization of design and development processes, certification, and ensure that the design and verification activities are consistent with the established processes. Bids and proposals: Candidate will lead, review, and provide guidance to team members on bid and proposal activities. Personnel administration: Candidate will make hiring decisions, performance assessment decisions, ensure management of personnel issues, develop personnel to achieve their career coals and create a highly engaged and motivated team. Occasional travel may be needed.
