About The Position

HC Forklift America is seeking a Senior Engineer to support in-house and remote durability, validation, applications, and testing activities for forklift trucks and internal combustion engines. This role supports product development verification, OBD certification, customer integration, and provides advanced technical support to OEM customers, dealers, and internal technical staff. The position is also responsible for developing and maintaining technical knowledge-based data, ensuring compliance with vendor requirements, and creating training materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in validation, testing, applications engineering, or technical support roles
  • Experience with internal combustion engines and/or industrial or off-road equipment
  • Strong understanding of durability testing and validation methodologies
  • Proven experience creating and maintaining technical knowledge bases, documentation, or troubleshooting repositories
  • Experience supporting OEM customers and dealer networks
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience participating in training programs and applying learned knowledge to technical processes
  • Knowledge of ensuring documentation and materials meet vendor compliance requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with forklift trucks or material handling equipment
  • Familiarity with OBD systems, emissions compliance, and certification requirements
  • Experience with ECU programming, CAN communication, and diagnostic tools
  • Experience supporting OEM assembly plants or production environments
  • Experience providing advanced technical support or field issue resolution

Responsibilities

  • Support and conduct in-house and remote durability, performance, and validation testing of forklifts and internal combustion engines
  • Execute testing activities for product development, verification, and OBD certification purposes
  • Manage and support multiple customers and customer-specific projects
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge-based data, including troubleshooting guides, FAQs, validation learnings, and best practices
  • Ensure all documentation and materials created are compliant with vendor requirements
  • Participate in training programs and apply knowledge to improve testing, support, and documentation practices
  • Create technical documentation, test procedures, validation reports, and training materials
  • Deliver technical training to customers, dealers, and internal technical staff to support product integration and usage
  • Support customer end-of-line (EOL) programming activities at HCFA and dealer warehouses
  • Perform electrical systems diagnostics and troubleshooting during customer integration and production support
  • Assist internal technical staff and dealer networks with troubleshooting equipment-related issues, both remotely and on-site
  • Serve as a technical interface between customers, dealers, internal teams, and global engineering partners
  • Support investigation and resolution of field, validation, and compliance-related issues
