About The Position

STV is seeking a Senior Engineer – Structural/Bridge to join their Transportation group in the Empire State Building, New York, NY office. This role is for an expert in the field who will develop resolutions to critical issues, perform design and rehabilitation of bridges, conduct quality assurance, and mentor entry-level staff. The work will encompass highway bridges, railroad bridges, and transportation facilities structures within New York. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • PE License is required in NY
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Familiarity with New York State project design requirements for NYCDOT and NYSDOT
  • Experience in analysis and design of bridges, including rehabilitation design
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Specification Writing
  • Cost Estimating

Responsibilities

  • Perform design of new bridges and rehabilitation of bridges
  • Quality assurance
  • Mentor entry level staff
  • Design & analysis of new and existing bridges, including rehabilitation and seismic retrofit design, and transportation facilities
  • Contract Document production and the preparation of PS&E documents
  • Bridge load ratings using LRFR and LFD
  • Perform design calculations
  • Develop plan details
  • Quantity take offs
  • Specification writing
  • Other technical report writing
  • Review of construction phase submittals
