About The Position

STV currently has openings for Structural Bridge Engineer in the Transportation group at the Empire State Building office in New York City. We are seeking a Structural/Bridge who is an expert in the field, who uses professional concepts in developing resolution to critical issues. This individual will be responsible to perform design of new bridges and rehabilitation of bridges, quality assurance, and mentor entry level staff. The work will include highway bridges, railroad bridges, and transportation facilities structures in our New York City office. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • PE License is required in NY
  • A minimum of 5 of experience
  • Familiarity with New York State project design requirements for NYCDOT and NYSDOT
  • Experience in analysis and design of bridges, including rehabilitation design
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Specification Writing
  • Cost Estimating

Responsibilities

  • Perform design of new bridges and rehabilitation of bridges
  • Quality assurance
  • Mentor entry level staff
  • Design & analysis of new and existing bridges, including rehabilitation and seismic retrofit design, and transportation facilities
  • Contract Document production and the preparation of PS&E
  • Bridge load ratings using LRFR and LFD
  • Review of construction phase submittals
  • Perform design calculations
  • Develop plan details
  • Quantity take offs
  • Specification writing
  • Other technical report writing
