The Senior Engineer, Service Innovation will play an essential role in supporting the Service and R&D teams. This position involves establishing collaboration between R&D, Service Innovation and other multi-functional product development teams to improve the performance and reliability of the robotic medical platforms. You will be developing innovative solutions that address Design for Serviceability, optimizing mechanisms, and supporting the Service business. Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and/or University degree is required; focused degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, electrical or Biomedical) preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of professional work experience
  • Experienced with working in a development environment, understanding of the product creation processes and the basic technical principle of applicable systems/components.
  • Standout colleague with good interpersonal skills and ability to influence others.
  • Proven partnership qualities and experience working collaboratively with different team members from all levels and functions in the organization.
  • Experience in DFX, designing for Serviceability, designing for Manufacturability/Repairability, lean methodologies.

Nice To Haves

  • R&D, Manufacturing/Repair experience is a plus.
  • Project management skills and experience (planning, monitoring, execution, etc.)
  • Previous experience in the medical devices industry, basic knowledge of working in an ISO and FDA regulated environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Incorporate Design for Serviceability and Design for Manufacturability/Repairability into product design and change control, translating repair-center reality into clear Service requirements.
  • Assess product/subsystem serviceability against defined Service requirements and reliability targets (component + system level).
  • Investigate implications of new technologies/changes on Service processes; identify business impact and required Service results.
  • Develop/validate repair workflows and acceptance criteria; support creation of repair work instructions and test cases for verification/validation of Service functionalities and advise on execution.
  • Monitor service performance, analyze results, and recommend product and service process improvements, including defining, creating, and publishing the required spare parts that enable effective service execution in the field.
  • Partner with R&D and Manufacturing to propose design updates and service innovation concepts that improve service and repair performance.
  • Represent the Service organization in the product development process in the Change Review Boards.
  • Act as single point of contact for the Service-related work.
  • Serve as a connector across R&D, Manufacturing, and Service to address Service requirements through the product creation process.
  • Define the requirements of the technical training courses of the products and review the training content.
